About Us
Founded in 1959 and integrated with the
Thames Valley District School Board since 1974, our school presently
teaches about 200 students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Adult
learners are welcome at all levels.
We are very proud and fortunate that the Thames Valley
District School Board is a strong supporter of our program.
What We Offer
Most classes participate in weekly music lessons
under the guidance of a professional voice instructor as a way of
becoming
acquainted with the rich heritage of German folk and popular songs. We
firmly
believe that singing helps language learners to overcome their
reluctance to utter foreign sounds and improves their pronunciation.
At special events such as the German Canadian Club's
Christkindl Market
in November, our annual Christmas
Celebration in December, the Day of Song in April, and our Last
Day of School Party in
early June, students show their parents and guests what they have
learned, by singing, acting or
reciting poetry on stage.
Teachers
The German Language School London accepts resumés with
the appropriate
documents from German language teachers for the grades Kindergarten to
Grade 12, and is always recruiting
Teacher's Assistants. Please contact the
Principal for more information.
